Refresh your spirit, enlighten your soul and re-energize your body at this special retreat for Hospice and Palliative Care Professionals.  Hosted by the Phoenix Chapter of the Hospice & Palliative Care Nurses Association (HPNA) in partnership with the Arizona Hospice & Palliative Care Organization. 


Program Objectives

  • To teach resilience and self-care techniques to hospice and palliative professionals so they may gain skills that are needed to combat negative effects associated with end of life care.
  • To provide a place of sanctuary of wellness and healing that will refresh, enlighten and re-energizing the mind, body and soul of those who attend.
  • To offer the tools that will tackle the physical, behavioral and psychological demands associated with the nature of working in hospice and palliative care

  • Identify Strategies for Collaboration and Cultivation of Professional Support
  • Discuss the importance of Self-Reflection & Care
  • Use Relaxation and Stress-reducing Techniques
  • Practice Self Care Activities that Foster Resilience

Join the Phoenix Chapter of HPNA OR AHPCO today ($25 for one or $50 for both)!  You will have the option of adding a membership during registration.



Overnight lodging will be at the Franciscan Renewal Center's Guest Rooms* - click here for more information on the rooms (you will reserve your room during the registration process for the retreat.   There are single occupancy** (1 person per room) or double occupancy (2 people per room) accommodations available. If selecting double-occupancy, please indicate the name of the person you wish to room with on the registration form or indicate you would like to be matched up with another participant of the same gender.  

*The guest rooms do not have phones or TVs in order to maximize time for quiet, peaceful reflection and renewal.
**Single-occupancy rooms are very limited in availability; if they have sold out you will be advised and provided with the opportunity to change to a double-occupancy room or the day rate.

Continuing Education

This activity has been submitted to the Hospice and Palliaitve Nurses Association (HPNA) for approval to award contact hours. The Hospice and Palliaitve Nurses Association is an approved continuing education provider (CEP) by the California Board of Registered Nurses, Provider Number 7926.
