Social Security Number Removal

In an effort to combat identity theft, CMS is readying an initiative that removes Social Security numbers from Medicare cards and replaces them with a new number called a Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI).  The new cards are scheduled to be mailed out starting in April 2018.
